more memorable.
Events Group Victoria is a Melbourne events company. We plan and manage corporate events, private celebrations and weddings across Victoria.
That means the concept, the venue search, the suppliers, the run sheet and the person with the clipboard on the night. Bring us in from the very first idea, or just to run the day — either way you get one point of contact and a plan everyone can follow.
How it works
the details make the difference.
A clear process means fewer surprises. Here’s what happens between “we should do something” and the night itself.

What does an event planner actually do?
An event planner turns an idea into a plan and then makes it happen. That usually means setting the budget and timeline, finding and booking the venue, sourcing suppliers such as catering, styling and entertainment, managing contracts and payment schedules, building the run sheet, and coordinating everyone on the day. How much of that you hand over is up to you.
How far in advance should I book an event planner?
As early as you can — the venue usually sets the timeline. Popular Melbourne venues and peak dates (Friday and Saturday nights, and November–December for end-of-year functions) book out first. Larger events and weddings need the most lead time; smaller private events can often come together faster if you are flexible on venue or date.
Can you organise catering, entertainment and hire?
Yes. Sourcing, briefing and coordinating suppliers is a core part of planning. We recommend suppliers that suit your event and budget, book them with your approval and manage them on the day. If you already have suppliers you love, we will happily work with them.
How much does an event planner cost?
It depends on the size of the event and how much help you need. Planners commonly charge a fixed fee based on scope, a percentage of the total event budget, or an hourly rate for smaller jobs. Read planning vs coordination to see which level of support fits — then ask us for a written quote.
